K-9 and Officers Capture Man who Fled on Foot

On February 3rd, at approximately 3:55 pm, a Valley Falls Police Officer attempted to serve a Jefferson County warrant on 36 year old Justin Depoy, at 203 Walnut Street in Valley Falls. Depoy fled northbound on foot from the residence and crossed the Delaware River. Officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Kansas Highway Patrol; including aircraft and K-9 units, and Kansas Wildlife & Parks, searched and tracked the subject across the river, and then west from Valley Falls where Depoy was apprehended by officers and a K-9 unit at approximately 7:24 pm, near K-16 Highway and Finney Road. Subject was transported to Stormont Vail Hospital by District 11 EMS for treatment of frost bite and dog bite.
