House Fire Claims Life

At approximately 0927 hours on November 6th, 2012, Jefferson County 911 Dispatch received a 911 call of a house fire in Perry, Kansas.   The 911 call came in as a transfer from Douglas County, who received it first.   The caller advised a house fire at 209 Main Street in Perry Kansas.  The caller stated the house was fully engulfed. 

Once on scene fire personnel found a body in the kitchen area of the home.  The body was later identified as 64 year old, Mary Aileen Quezada,  owner of the residence:

Agencies responding to this call were The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, The Perry Police Department,  The Jefferson County Coroner, The Jefferson County Ambulance, The State Fire Marshall, Kentucky Fire Department, Rural Fire Department, Kaw Fire Department, Fairview Fire Department, and Lecompton Fire Department.

Lecompton Firefighter Marci Skinner was injured while working the call, and was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
