Three Bodies Found Near Grantville

On October 25th, 2017 at approximately 2:50 PM, Jefferson County E911 received a medical call of an unconscious female at 3222 Detlor Road in rural Grantville.    

Jefferson County EMS and Kaw Township First Responders arrived at the residence and found two unresponsive bodies at the location.  EMS personnel  backed out and called for Law Enforcement.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Kansas Highway Patrol responded and made entry into the residence.   Two victims and a suspect were located at the residence with fatal gunshot wounds.

Victim #1 is Penny J. Nelson; 64 year old female and owner of the residence and sister of the suspect.

Victim #2 is a James V. Chavez; 61 year old male who was a neighbor and visited the residence of 3222 Detlor.

The suspect is Harlan T. Gleason, 66 year old male, who was found with what appears to be a self inflicted gunshot wounds. 

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and The Jefferson County Detectives are finishing up with processing of the crime scene today; October 26, 2017.   

Case still under Investigation.
