On September 9th, 2023 at approximately 8:30 am, Jefferson County Dispatch received a call of a man, who had been hit several times with a blunt object.   The address given was 6926 Shawnee Lane in Lake Ridge Estates, Ozawkie, Kansas.   Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies, Jefferson County Ambulance Service and First Responders responded to the location.

The Jefferson County Ambulance transported Michael J. West (FATHER), 59 years of age to Stormont Vail Hospital with Life threatening injuries.

Michael T. West (SON), 30 Years of age was arrested on September 9th, 2023 for Attempted First Degree Murder at 11.36 am in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Michael T. West (SON), is being held with no bond in Jefferson County Jail until his first appearance in District Court.

Both Victim and Suspect live at 6926 Shawnee Lane, Ozawkie, Kansas.
