Meriden Dollar General Robbery

On Tuesday August 24th, 2021 at approximately 8:59 p.m. Jefferson County Emergency Communications received a report of a robbery at the Dollar  General  Store  in Meriden,  KS. Officers from the Jefferson  County  Sheriff's Office,  the Kansas  Highway  Patrol,  and the Meriden Police Department  responded to the scene. Clerks on duty reported that a lone white male approximately  508 with a medium build wearing all black, a blue bandana covering  his face,  and a blue baseball cap entered the  store and stated he was there to rob the place and did not want to hurt anyone. It was reported the individual may have a tattoo  on the back of his head and neck and spoke with a heavy accent. The clerks stated the subject demanded all the cash and three packs of Marlboro  Red Cigarettes. No one was injured during the robbery. The suspect left with an undetermined amount of cash and the Marlboro  Cigarettes.
