Shooting 9660 86th Street

On Monday May 30, 2022 at approximately 4:18 P.M., Jefferson County 911 received a call of a  shooting stemming from a family dispute in the 9600 block of 86th street, in rural Oskaloosa.    Officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, and Oskaloosa Police Department responded to the scene where they found Winfred L. Rodriguez (54 year old male) had been shot.  Rodriguez was transported by Jefferson County EMS to Stormont Vail Hospital.   Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies  made contact with Larry Hysten (68 year old male), who was arrested and transported to the Jefferson County Jail.   Hysten has been booked into The Jefferson County Jail and is awaiting first appearance for Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery, and 2 counts of Aggravated Assault.  No other subjects are being sought in connection to this incident.   Should anyone have information  to this shooting please contact the Detective Division at the Jefferson County  Sheriff's Office at 785-863-2765.
